finding One’s Mantra
The Cathedral’s contemplative meditation sessions returns on Sept. 14.
This program’s pseudo name is fOM which is an opportunity for individuals to take a break, breathe, and “be” with text that offers a mantra for getting through the busyness of the week.
fOM is structured in the style of Fr. Thomas Keating’s “Centering Prayer”; the text being offered is either words from interfaith scripture or thoughts from some literary writings. Following the 25 minutes of silence/meditation, optional time is allotted for verbal sharing of the meditation text. In September, the book When God is Silent by Barbara Brown Taylor (Episcopal priest and professor) will be used.
Please join us on Tuesdays (Sept. 14) at 5:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. For more information and/or questions, contact Veronica Ritson at Trinity Cathedral x312 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
