Friday Noon Organ Series
This year, Trinity Cathedral initiates a series of fve noon-time organ recitals on Fridays during the season of Lent. Concerts begin at 12:15 pm in the Cathedral and will end at 12:45 pm enabling those who live or work nearby to attend within the span of a lunch hour. Trinity Cathedral is readily accessible from the Roosevelt Street Light Rail Station and the Dash Copper Square Line. Admission is free of charge.
Friday, February 26 William Barnett 12:15 PM
William Barnett is regularly featured as a concert artist, choral conductor, and clinician in venues across the country. He is active as a choral and keyboard composer, recording artist, author, and creative consultant, and has served in an advisory capacity on a number of boards, from professional music organizations to synods and dioceses and private companies. After completing his doctoral study in sacred music, William moved to Phoenix, Arizona to serve as the Director of Music in a 4000 member Lutheran congregation where he designed and directed the installation of the largest church pipe organ in the state. Most recently, he served a year-long tenure as the Interim Organist/Choirmaster at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Phoenix, nationally known for its outstanding program of sacred music.

James Gerber is the Director of Music and Worship at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Phoenix. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and a Master of Arts degree in Liturgical Music with an organ emphasis from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Arizona State University, studying organ with Dr. Kimberly Marshall. He has performed organ recitals in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Arizona, as well as having been the accompanist for a variety of choirs in those areas.
Friday, March 12 Ilona Kubiaczyk-Adler 12:15 PM
Ilona Kubiaczyk-Adler received her Master of Arts degree from the Academy of Music in Łódź, Poland, and a Master of Music in organ performance from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Holland. Ilona received frst prize in the competition of French music interpretation in Warsaw, Poland, and was a fnalist in the 11th Organ Competition in Leiden, Holland. During the years 2004-2008, she worked as Assistant Professor in the Organ, Harpsichord and Early Music in the Academy of Music in Łódź, Poland, teaching organ performance and chamber music. Currently residing in Phoenix, Ilona is working towards a DMA in organ performance at the ASU School of Music. She also holds the position of Music Director of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity.
Friday March 19 Skye Hart 12:15 PM
Skye Hart is currently director of music and liturgy at St. Maria Goretti Church in Scottsdale, AZ, and is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in organ performance at ASU. His teachers include Kimberly Marshall, Russell Stinson, and Siegbert Rampe. Recent performances include the Basilica de San Cajetano, Guanajuato, Mexico, and Pistoia, Italy, where he was a fnalist in the Pistoia International Organ Competition. Skye performs frequently with the ASU Baroque Ensemble and the ASU Choral Union, and will accompany their performance of the Durufe Requiem this spring. His interests include French literature and culture, the Seventeenth-century, coffee, and penguins.
Friday, March 26 Erik W. Goldstrom 12:15 PM
Erik W. Goldstrom is the newly appointed Canon Musician for Trinity Cathedral. Dr. Goldstrom holds degrees from Northwestern University (summa cum laude), Southern Methodist University (where he was awarded the Dora Poteet Barclay Award for Outstanding Organ Performance), Perkins School of Theology (summa cum laude), and Stanford University where he received his Ph.D. in musicology. Erik has performed throughout the United States, UK and Europe, most notably at Lincoln Cathedral, St. George’s Chapel, Windsor, the Madeleine and the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris. He has also appeared at national conferences sponsored by the American Guild of Organists and the Association of Anglican Musicians. An avid promoter of contemporary music, Erik has both commissioned and premiered works by several notable American composers including Jeffrey Smith, David Jaffe and Frank Ferko.
