Children's Formation
Children's Formation
Trinity’s Formation Mission Statement
With God’s guidance and grace, we, the members of Trinity Cathedral, intend to create an environment that will invite God to work in the lives of children, youth, and those who minister to them, so they all can explore and develop their faith as full participants in our Episcopal community, and as servant-leaders in the world.
Vision Statement
Develop Episcopalians who strive to live fully into their baptismal covenant, and who will continue Christian formation throughout their lives.
Children ages infant to three years old are safely and lovingly cared for on Sundays from 9:00am to 12:30pm during the year and at 10am during the summer (Co-Op Program) while their parents are in the service or otherwise occupied in activities at the Cathedral. Simple lessons and a variety of play equipment keeps the little ones busy. They are given a simple snack during the middle of each service. If you are interested in volunteering in the Nursery, please contact the Cathedral office.
The Cathedral occasionally provides child care in the Nursery for other selected activities and special services. Call the church office or click on the calendar link for more information about a specific event.
Our Summer co-op is offered during the summer months.

The Rite 13 Ceremony, conducted near a youth's thirteenth birthday includes the Cathedral community in observing and celebrating with the youth and their parents the passage from childhood towards adulthood.
Youth Group meets at 11:15am following the 10:00am service during the year.
Mission and outreach
Children as young as 3 years are included in The Cathedral's call to mission. Along with youth and adults, they are invited to know each other by name, minister to each other, and become partners in serving Christ in this world. Acolytes
Being an acolyte is a ministry not only for adults, but for children and youth. Acolytes lead us into worship bearing the symbols of our faith: the cross, the candles which represent the light of Christ & banners to symbolize our joyful celebration to come in the Holy Eucharist. Any youth or children interested in becoming an acolyte should speak to our Archdeacon, Veronica Ritson at

to receive training and to get on the schedule.
Summer Co-Op
Offered to children ages 3 -12, each Sunday during the summer months, volunteers plan and implement a 40 minute session for both services on Sunday mornings at 9:15am and 11:00am in place of our regular curriculum. Anyone can help for one Sunday - Adults or youth in teams of 2-4, will receive the help of a support person that has completed the Diocesan youth training. This Co-Op is a wonderful opportunity to share our rich inheritance of many talents, gifts, ministries, and experiences with the children of the Cathedral, and in return, receive the ministry of the children.
